Landscape painting class
A 4-session class where you will learn all the basic techniques and tricks for creating a landscape painting of your choice!
The ambition is that at the end of the class, you will leave with a finished painting on an amazing 70/50 cm canvas (Italian!) And the great advantage: you can apply all the methods you learned as many times as you wish and draw countless more landscape works! (And maybe even sell them...)
What will we learn?
First lesson - We will learn to prepare the canvas optimally, draw the background of the landscape, learn to make gradual transitions between the different shades, mix different shades correctly, and create depth in the painting from its first layers. Each according to the reference image of the landscape he chose to draw.
Second lesson - We will learn how to build a successful composition of the painting. We will rely on the reference image and learn how to choose what to draw and which objects to discard. We will draw the distant elements of the landscape we have chosen and learn about creating depth in painting through the rules of overlap, concealment and color.
Third lesson - This time we will focus on the nearest elements in the painting. We will create depth in the painting through shades and through resolution. We will learn how to make the viewer's eye travel through the painting continuously - which is the true test of a successful painting!
Fourth lesson - We will go into the small details that take the painting to another level, we will learn rules and techniques that will make everything connect together, and we will give a high resolution to the nearby objects that we want to emphasize.
In the class we will learn the principles, the basics and the natural logic behind them, what to look for when you want to draw a landscape and what to emphasize, so that you can apply the rules and emphasis you learned in your next works as well!
The materials we will use during the class: Gesso, acrylic paint in its shades, glazing medium, gel medium, putties, acrylic ink, brushes and brushes, painting sponge, acrylic marker.
