Abstract painting class
I invite you to connect to the roots of your creativity, to free yourself and let the color speak for you. In the abstract class we remove all conventions and do whatever we want on the canvas. With my method, you will not face a white and stressful canvas without knowing how to start or how to continue. We will dive into the world of color, and I will be there to guide and give you the confidence you need to create, connect, disconnect, get dirty, clean... and above all to have fun!
What will we learn at the class?
First lesson - We will prepare the canvas for the abstract painting. In order to connect with the material, we will start drawing with our hands. We will use masking tape to plan the drawing, to delimit areas and separate colors. We will experiment with different techniques to create textures with design paste in different textures.
Second lesson - Introduction to masking fluid, we will experiment with different techniques of using different types of fillers and learn different techniques of painting with coarse brushes.
Third lesson - We will perform a second application in masking fluid, we will learn to create transparency with the help of glazing medium. Depth is given to the works by creating textures with various accessories (sponges, newspapers, cardboard, etc.). We will get to know creative ways of splashing paint. We will add touches to the creations using the technique of metallic gold and silver leaves. To sum up, we will perform a professional finish to our creation by painting the frame in different approaches.
Each participant will create their own abstract painting. You can use pictures of abstract paintings that you like for inspiration.
The materials we will use during the class: gesso, acrylic paint for its shades, masking fluid, glazing medium, gel medium, spatulas, design paste, acrylic spray, acrylic ink, brushes and brushes, painting sponge, gold leaf and acrylic marker.
3 sessions of an hour and a half.
